The framing was not pressure treaded and had been exposed to water for years. Heavy rains in the summer of 2023 brought the problem to light.
We removed the rotten base board of the framming. We were able to save many of the studs and reuse them later.

Basement Renovation
During the summer of 2023, we discovered that the foundation had cracks that had been letting water in slowly over time. The baseboard of the walls was rotten and there was almost no insulation anywhere in the basement. We fixed all of the cracks in the foundation, added a moisture barrier, sealed all nooks that were letting in cold air, and redid the walls for a beautifully finished basement.
Fence Garden Beds
We are avid gardeners and the fence in our yard was in need of some love. To avoid replacing the whole fence, we replaced a few rotten fence posts and built a perimeter garden bed onto the fence. The garden bed supports the fence and reinforces its structural integrity.

Additional staging
the metal fencing had warped from plants growing on it and a few years of neglect. Johannes screwed two pieces of wood together and then used a wratchet strap to pull the fence tight before nailing it in place.

Custom Shelves
Johannes carefully cut three shelves into an opening between the living room and the stairwell. The shelves are in the style of 70's post-modern. Minimal and beautiful.
